The Physical Sciences Project will provide a dynamic, state-of-the-art facility to support the internationally recognized research and teaching in Cornell’s Departments of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, and Physics, and the School of Applied and Engineering Physics. The new building will extend and connect existing facilities (Clark and Baker Halls and Olin Lab) and create an environment that encourages interdisciplinary research in areas such as nanoscale science, x-ray and accelerator physics, chemical biology and biological physics. Recruitment of top researchers, faculty and students will be critically enhanced by this undertaking. The building’s labs, offices and public spaces will occupy approximately 197,000 GSF. The structure will be built on an already paved area in order to preserve green space on the Cornell campus.
